Yoshie Allan is a self-taught visual artist, illustrator, and pattern designer.

Originally from North-East Japan, she initially studied Veterinary Science at Nihon University but changed her career path partway through her studies. She then enrolled in the fashion design course at ESMOD JAPON and subsequently entered the apparel industry.

In 2006, she organically began showcasing her work as a visual artist based in Tokyo. Her wide-ranging activities include creating artwork for advertising and books, textile design, and large-scale wall art, as well as exhibitions and workshops for adults and children.

Having lived in Hertfordshire for over 12 years, Yoshie draws inspiration from nature, blending her own life philosophy with the contrast of light and shadow. She continues to explore diverse forms of expression through painting, paper cutting, and the use of colourful fabrics and patterns.
