The pitch would be FREE but if you wanted to actually sell anything on the day and take payment\, rather than just give out information (which could be about your business or products)\, they would ask for a 10% contribution of your takings to go towards their costs. Creative Royston which stages the arts festival is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by unpaid volunteers.

DESCRIPTION:Now into it’s fourth year\, Holwell Life Drawing manifests as regular Monday & Wednesday evenings classes – both 7-9pm – at Holwell Village Hall – near Hitchin\, Hertfordshire. \nAll levels of ability welcome – from novice to pro. The class is set up to be fairly loose / generic – so that people can work in whatever direction they choose – be it analytical – or something more expressive – in friendly and relaxed environment – with tutor Matt Burden (MA Visual Communication\, Royal College of Art) on hand to offer advice and guidance to people that best suits where they’re at\, and what they’re trying to achieve. \nAges 18 and upward. \nWHAT IS LIFE DRAWING \nLife drawing – drawings made from the living naked human form – can be an important way for anyone with an artistic impulse to exercise and develop their skills – I’ve always likened it to the artistic equivalent of going to the gym. It’s also really fun. \nTHE CLASS \nWe’ll start with some quicker poses to get everyone warmed up\, before moving to some longer poses so you have some time to explore in more depth\, with a break half way through to share and assess our efforts. \nWHAT YOU NEED TO BRING \nAll you really need to get going is some paper and a pencil or two – it really can be as simple as that – and there’s much to be said for the simplicity of that. \nHowever\, the world is your oyster – so you may want to consider charcoal\, crayons\, pastels – or something weird and wonderful if you’re up for some experimentation – whatever takes your fancy. Different areas around the county will be producing their own art trails plus we will be producing theme-based flip-books/videos.

The class is set up to be fairly loose / generic – so that people can work in whatever direction they choose – be it analytical – or something more expressive – in friendly and relaxed environment – with tutor Matt Burden (MA Visual Communication\, Royal College of Art) on hand to offer advice and guidance to people that best suits where they’re at\, and what they’re trying to achieve. \nAges 18 and upward. \nWHAT IS LIFE DRAWING \nLife drawing – drawings made from the living naked human form – can be an important way for anyone with an artistic impulse to exercise and develop their skills – I’ve always likened it to the artistic equivalent of going to the gym. Where better to make your own botanical prints than in a charming pavilion on the edge of Ransoms Recreation ground\, home of the Triangle Community Garden! Tutor Kim (MA Illustration & Book Arts) has designed a two and a half hour workshop in the purpose built community studio overlooking the park\, where you will learn the linocutting and printing technique using simple tools\, to produce some original and unique prints on cards and paper to frame\, keep and send.\n \n\n\nBooking is essential and spaces are limited to ensure plenty of attention.
